Jeff McGrath formed McGrath
Group Management (MGM) in 1980 as a small medical billing
company in Cincinnati. MGM quickly grew as a traditional
outsourced provider of accounts receivable management
services for physician practices. In order to improve
the service offered to his clients and building upon his
experience in software development, Jeff created proprietary software, known as MemPhys. MGM has
used remote accessed, central application servers to
provide business applications to medical practices for
over 20 years. This is similar to the popular ASP (application
service provider) model of today, only without the
Internet.
MGM continued to grow by adding an office in Greenville,
South Carolina. The two locations provide outsourced
business processes to their physician clients
including patient billing service, training and
software support, electronic payments, and complete
management of billing and receivable issues.
Building upon MGM’s success, and in anticipation of the
new challenges his clients face today and in the future,
Jeff spearheaded the development of MGM’s premier
practice management system, ephynity. Introduced in
2001, ephynity maintains the tradition of superior
accounts receivable management, but with the
benefit of a variety of additional services. ephynity
partners with “best of breed” providers of other
services, such as prescription automation, data image
management and storage, etc., to offer an integrated
application suite accessed via a single, secure Internet connection.
Most
importantly, ephynity establishes the foundation for the
delivery of additional
functionality and value as the system continues to
evolve.
